General Administration of Customs: Suspending the importation of mangoes from Taiwan into mainland China
According to the official website of the General Administration of Customs, the Department of Animal and Plant Quarantine of the General Administration of Customs has issued a notice suspending the import of mangoes from Taiwan into the mainland due to the detection of quarantine pests by mainland customs from mangoes imported from Taiwan.
The notice shows that the mainland customs have recently detected a quarantine pest - Planococcus minor - from mangoes imported from Taiwan to the mainland. In order to prevent the risk of plant epidemic, in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and standards in mainland China, it has been decided to suspend the import of mangoes from Taiwan into mainland China from August 21, 2023. Starting from August 21, 2023, all customs will suspend the acceptance of mango customs declaration in Taiwan and promptly notify relevant enterprises within their jurisdiction of the above situation.
