Due to the high safety requirements for air cargo transportation, especially when using the belly compartment of a passenger aircraft for cargo transportation, some air cargo requires an appraisal report. So what is an air appraisal report? Which goods must provide air freight identification? In a nutshell, it means that goods that cannot be determined whether they have hidden dangers or cannot be correctly classified and identified require an air freight appraisal report!
What is air freight appraisal
The full name of air transportation appraisal is "Identification and Classification Report for Air Transport of Goods", commonly known as air transportation appraisal or appraisal.
Which goods require air freight identification?
1. Goods with magnetism
According to the IATA902 International Air Transport Agreement, any magnetic field intensity at a distance of 2.1m from the surface of the tested item should be less than 0.159A/m (200nT) before it can be used for general cargo transportation (export inspection). All goods containing magnetic materials will generate a magnetic field in space, and safety testing of magnetic goods is required to ensure flight safety.
